Fall 2025 Competitive Team

This is open for students in the tri-state region entering grades 8-12 in the Fall of 2025.

1) FALL PRACTICE LOCATIONS: 

ON WATER PRACTICE FACILITY:

Camden County Boathouse @ 7050 North Park Drive in Pennsauken

INDOOR PRACTICE FACILITY:

Moorestown Mall @ 400 W. Route 38 in Moorestown

2) ANTICIPATED PRACTICE TIMES: Schedule for water/erg practices (Boathouse/Indoor Facility) will be announced as rosters are set. 

Monday-Friday: 5:00-7:30pm

Sunday: 8:00-10:30am

• COMPETITIVE TEAM first official practice: Tuesday 9/2/25
• NOVICE TEAM first official practice: Monday 9/8/25

NEW FOR 2025 — ALL novice athletes as well as varsity athletes new to CJRC will undergo a 3-week tryout period from Monday, 9/8/25 through Friday, 9/26/25. CJRC coaches will assess each new participant using a comprehensive review of various factors relevant to the sport of rowing. Following the tryout period, athletes subject to the provision who are approved by the Program Director will be notified and invited to continue with the Fall competitive team. All others who do not make the Fall competitive team will be notified and refunded fully, minus $50 which will be withheld as an Evaluation Fee. All determination of the Program Director and coaches' assessments are final.

** OPTIONAL 2-WEEK PRESEASON: For returning CJRC athletes only. Please note that Preseason is limited, and novice athletes (or new to the team for the Fall '25 season) as well as athletes who did not row in the Spring '25 season are not eligible. If your athlete was on the novice team for Spring '25, they are now considered varsity.

Preseason Cost: $50 to be paid in full at time of registration (separate registration)

3) PRICING:

Fall '25 Competitive Team: $1,500

This price is inclusive of facility/equipment use and maintenance, coaching, training, insurance, and regatta entry fees. Does not include costs for travel, or mandatory standard or travel uniform kits. Anticipated non-included Fall travel cost: $700-$1000/athlete (travel regattas may include select athletes only). Anticipated Fall uniform cost (as needed): appx. $85.

4) USROWING MEMBERSHIP:

It is a requirement that all athletes who will be rowing competitively with CJRC must be a member of USRowing. This membership must be kept current in order to race at regattas.

5) FALL RACING SCHEDULE: TBA

CJRC will announce the regatta schedule as soon as possible. Races are competitive, and seats in each boat are determined by ability, effort and attendance.

 

Fall 2025 Middle School Program (MSP) 

This program is expected to fill quickly! Space is limited - register today! 

The MSP gives young athletes who are interested in crew a chance to get a jumpstart on their rowing careers. The program is open for middle school students in the tri-state area entering grades 6-8 in the Fall of 2025. As the premiere club in the area, we attract kids from the Jersey shore, Central and South Jersey, as well as the Philadelphia suburbs and Delaware. Classes will focus on the basics of rowing and refining technique - plus a fun introduction to CJRC's culture! Our motto is AMOR FIDE LABORE (LOVE TRUST HARD WORK) — we'd love to show your athlete what this is all about! 

Your child can start the MSP without previous rowing experience, and it's also a great continuation of what they've learned in our summer Learn to Row camps. Coaches will teach them everything they need to know! All rowers must be able to swim and tread water. 

***8th grade athletes also have the option to tryout for CJRC's Fall 2025 Competitive Team. If you are unsure or have any questions, please contact mrc.coopercommodores@gmail.com and we will help you decide which program is the best fit!

In the MSP, we are looking for athletes who are ready to learn, have a positive attitude, and are excited about the sport!

Saturday 10/4 -- 8:00am-10:00am

Saturday 10/11 -- 8:00am-10:00am

Cost: $450 to be paid in full at time of registration. No proration or refunds, as we use enrollment numbers to determine staffing levels and decline other attendees based upon class size.
